ANNUAL PRAYER NETWORK
 
The Bethel Circuit Women’s Commission Annual Prayer Network is being held this month which is also Child Month.
 
The first session on “Youth and Sexuality” will be held today Sunday, May 07, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. Mrs. Donna Tull-Cox, a Guidance Counsellor will facilitate this session.
 
Members are encouraged to attend via ZOOM with the Credentials –

Please also join them on Saturday May 13th at 8:30a.m.
 
The speaker will be Sis Kimberlee Thompson Roach. Every woman is invited to bring a young woman or teenager as they discuss Intergenerational issues. Donations of breakfast items from each congregation are welcome. Please contact any member of the Executive for further information.
 
JAMES STREET / SPEIGHTSTOWN CIRCUIT YOUTH RALLY
 
Class The James Street / Speightstown Circuit Youth Rally will be held in the Ann Gill Memorial Methodist Church Car Park on 7th May 2023 at 4:00pm
 
The theme of the rally is “Triumphant With Jesus” and will feature:
Dance, Songs, Spoken Word.
 
Come and encounter Christ in a new way.
 
MOTHER’S DAY LUNCHEON
 
Class 2 of the Vauxhall Methodist Church will be hosting a Mother’s Day Luncheon on Sunday, May 14, 2023, at the Vauxhall Church, commencing at 1:00 p.m.
 
Admission:
 
Adults: $50.00 and children: $25.00.
 
Proceeds in aid of church funds
 
METHODIST HERITAGE MONTH & ALDERSGATE
 
As we prepare for Methodist Heritage month and Aldersgate, the South Caribbean Youth will be hosting two events:
 
(i) a Radio Show featuring hymns and songs rendered by our South Caribbean people and
 
(ii) an Aldersgate Roundtable Talk. The Roundtable is designed to bring together ordained ministers and laity to discuss Methodist Heritage, our core values as a church and how we will continue to promote these areas as we do God’s work.
 
Members are asked to note that both events will premiere exclusively on YouTube
 
The Radio Show will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. and the Roundtable Talk will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at 6:00 p.m.
 
The South Caribbean Youth will be inviting Methodist musicians from across the District to exclusively render all of the hymns and songs used. During the week of May 8-13, members are asked to identify individuals and groups who are desirous of submitting recordings of hymns or songs. All recordings for the Radio show should be submitted by May 15.
 
Members can indicate this information to our Superintendent Minister, Rev. Adrian Odle.
 
FLEA MARKET
 
The Vauxhall and Providence Methodist Churches wish to advise persons the Flea Market which is being hosted by the Barbados Community College will now take place on Saturday, May 27th, 2023.
 
We are encouraging everyone to support this event by donating items in good condition such as clothing, books, household items or plants. We would also appreciate your attendance and financial support.

CIRCUIT SPORTS
 
The Bethel Circuit Organizations and Education Committee will be hosting a Sports Day on Monday, May 29, 2023, (Whitsuntide Bank Holiday)from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Deighton Griffith Secondary School.
 
Members are encouraged to participate in basketball, football, relays, tug of war and many more!!!!.

MUSIC MINISTRY PROGRAM
 
The Providence Methodist Church is inviting members to join their Music Ministry program (Choir, Worship team, Instrumentalists). All interested persons can contact any of the Congregational Stewards as soon as possible.
 
SUNLIGHT BIBLE STUDY
 
 On Thursday April 20, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon – Sunlight Bible Study resumes at the Providence Methodist Church. Rev. Pearson Blackman will facilitate this session.

PEER TUTORING / MENTORSHIP
 
Members are asked to note that the Bethel Circuit Organizations & Education Committee in partnership with a Secondary School in Barbados will be offering peer tutoring/mentorship for students who are enrolled in Secondary Schools (First Form to Fifth Form Students) and who are experiencing academic challenges in a specific subject area.
 
The peer tutoring will be facilitated by Lower 6th and Upper 6 Students who have volunteered to assist students who might be experiencing challenges academically. The programme is pro bono (free of cost) and will be coordinated virtually once per week, based on the availability of each individual.
 
Should there be any parents who are desirous of seizing this opportunity, you are encouraged to make contact with Sis. Natalie Phillips via mobile at 234-0750.
 
STUDY TIMETABLE / TIME MANAGEMENT SCHEDULING
 
The Bethel Circuit Organizations & Education Committee will be offering Study Timetables/Time Management Schedules to students who are challenged with organizing assignments/homework/School Based Assessments.

A Building Fund Collection will be taken every 4th Sunday monthly.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS WHILE ATTENDING WORSHIP
 
ALL PERSONS ATTENDING WORSHIP are reminded that the following Government of Barbados protocols must be adhered to:
– Have their hands sanitized
– Wear a mask to cover your Mouth and Nose.
– Place tithes and offerings in the baskets on arrival.
– Maintain physical distancing of 3 feet between each worshipper. However, families can sit together.
– Hymnals and Bibles should be brought from home.
– Those at the sanctuary will not be available
– There is to be NO congregating before or after worship.

REV. RICHARDS INDUCTED
 
THE SOUTH CARIBBEAN DISTRICT CONFERENCE 2018 has elected Rev. Derick A. Richards as President/Bishop of the District effective September 1, 2018.  He will serve for the triennium 2018-2021.
 
Rev. Richards was inducted on the 26th August 2018 at a service at the James Street Methodist Church, Barbados.

Twin sisters Gabriella and Jasmine became the newest members of the Providence congregation during the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on the 27th May 2018.

During the Sacrament of Holy Baptism on the 28th January 2018, the congregation welcomed little Kayla Webb.
 
 
 
ORDAINED! 
 
On behalf of the congregation at Providence congratulations are extended to our Minister Capt. Rev Al Walcott who was ordained in St. Vincent on Thursday 18 January 2018. You are encouraged to remember him and his family in your prayers
 
ANNEX REDEDICATION
 
The Providence Church Annex was rededicated on December 31st, 2017 during a short ceremony that was led by Rev. Al Walcott. The annex now boasts of improved facilities and will be utilised as we continue our recovery efforts from the loss of the auditorium.
